Nebraska Talking Book & Braille Service

NTBBS is a part of a nationwide network of cooperating libraries headed by the National Library Service, (NLS,) a division of the Library of Congress providing free audio books and audio magazines and Braille through the mail.

Radio Talking Book Service

Nebraska’s only reading service that uses radio as the main platform for its services. Since 1974, RTBS provides human-voiced audio access to local, current information connecting listeners to business as consumers, allows for the spurring of economic activity, and creating opportunities for community engagement.


Theatrical Audio Descriptions

Audio Description allows those who are visually impaired to more fully enjoy a live performance through a verbal description of a stage production. The visually impaired patron wares a single earpiece connected to a personal headset receiver. A trained audio describer provides live, verbal descriptions of actions, costumes, scenery and other visual elements of the live performance, which is transmitted to the headset so only those wearing them hear the supplemental description as well as the dialogue.
