Special Membership Opportunity
Join or renew your membership for just $12 Omaha Council of the Blind Chapter; $15 Lincoln Chapter; or $10 at-large before December 31, 2025, and your name will be entered into a drawing for one of two $25 gift cards! It’s our way of saying “thank you” for your commitment and support.
There are three kinds of membership:
- At-large
This membership is for those who want to belong to the organization but do not have a chapter near them.
Annual membership dues: $10 - Omaha chapter
Annual membership dues: $12 - Lincoln chapter
Annual membership dues: $15
At-large Membership
The at-large membership is for individuals wishing to join the organization and are either not located near a city with a local chapter, or do not wish to affiliate with a local chapter. All at-large members are afforded the same privileges as chapter members and are able to receive any published periodicals, hold office, hold organizational voting privileges, and serve on boards and committees.
Chapter Membership
Chapter memberships afford individuals the opportunity to learn, network and share common experiences. In addition, belonging to a chapter allows individuals to advocate for improved services for the blind and visually impaired citizens within their community.
Life Membership
The ACBN Life Membership, as the name implies, entitles the recipient to life-long membership in the state affiliate regardless of any changes in membership dues. The Life Membership fee is $300, and is paid at one time, or in $100 installments for up to three years. A life membership may be purchased by a member for their own use, or can be presented as a gift. Read more about ACBN Life Memberships.
Membership Benefits
By being a member, you will have access to:
- “The ACB Braille Forum,” a magazine available in Braille, large print, on CD, podcast, e-mail, and on the American Council of the Blind (ACB) website. This magazine highlights the events and information pertinent to blind or visually impaired individuals.
- ACBN Newsletter
- Participation in state and/or special interest or professional affiliates
- Free use of the National Office as a resource and information center
- Participation in the annual State and National Conventions
