Welcome to all things convention and the registration process for the 2025 state convention of the American Council of the Blind of Nebraska (ACBN). The convention theme this year is “Inspire for the Best Life”. The event will take place Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 8:30 AM – 7:30 PM at St. James United Methodist Church, 4343 Capehart Rd, Bellevue, NE. Online registration begins January 15.
We are also pleased to announce a half-day workshop “Empowering Through AI” taking place Friday, March 21 from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM, followed by a banquet dinner. In collaboration with the Nebraska Commission for the Blind & Visually Impaired (NCBVI) the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be presented by Jeff Bishop, IT Accessibility Consultant with the University of Arizona and current Blind Information Technology Specialist (BITS) President, an affiliate of the American Council of the Blind. This workshop will explain what AI is, its capabilities, its use in everyday life, and how AI can level the playing field for persons with disabilities, and much more. The 4-hour workshop, social and banquet takes place March 21 also at St. James United Methodist Church.
We are pleased to announce a discount for attendees who wish to attend both the AI workshop and the state convention. Please consult the registration form for complete pricing structure.
